About Mark Satterlee
Mark Satterlee is a senior management professional with more than 30 years of experience in Florida local government, including land use planning, development and growth management. His skill set includes insightful development review analysis, clear written expression, powerful presentations, and public speaking.
Mark excels in assisting residents, businesses, and developers as they navigate the regulatory environment, long range planning, and economic development efforts. He has served as a director of the St Lucie Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and on the Technical Advisory Committee for Indian River County. His work during hurricanes Frances, Jeanne, Wilma, Matthew, Dorian, and Nicole has given him extensive emergency management experience, and he holds multiple FEMA certifications.
As deputy county administrator for St. Lucie County, Mark oversaw Planning & Development Services, Building Division, Code Enforcement, St Lucie County Utilities, Public Works and Engineering, Environmental Resources, County Cooperative Extension, Tourism, the Treasure Coast Research Park and Solid Waste. During his service, he became adept at developing innovative solutions to complex problems and providing both leadership and collaboration skills that assisted teams in accomplishing goals and implementing successful projects.
Mark is most proud of being a part of the economic development success enjoyed by St. Lucie County, helping new and local manufacturing businesses expand, bringing good jobs to the county, and enhancing the work life of the entire community.
Committed to volunteer service, Mark was a liaison member for St. Lucie County on the Economic Development Council Board of Directors and has been a Board member of the Treasure Coast Food Bank since 2019. A resident of the Treasure Coast since 1990, Mark holds a Master of City Planning degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and has been AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) certified since 1992.
